Dear McAuliffe Families and Friends,
Happy October!
Even though fall has brought darker days and nights, our McAuliffe students
continue to shine bright!
It was great to see so many parents at Open House. Hopefully you gained a better understanding of
the curriculum at your child’s grade level.
It is amazing what our elementary students are being asked to do, and
yet they DO IT! If you were not able to attend, the next opportunity to meet
with your child’s teacher/teaching team, will be on Thursday, November 5th when parent/teacher conferences
are scheduled. Teachers will be
available from 5:30 – 7:30 to meet one-on-one with parents to discuss their
child’s first term academic and social progress.
We continue to work very hard to grow strong and solid
students here at the McAuliffe. Over the
next two months all students in grades K-4 will be working on opinion writing, reading fiction and
focusing on character traits, and getting more familiar with our new math
program entitled Eureka. Please encourage your child to voice his/her
opinion on various home issues, talk about the character traits of family
members and inquire about your child’s math “sprint” progress.
Our first PTO
fundraiser was a HUGE success.
Together our school community purchased over $11,000 of Mixed Bags
items. Of those sales, $5,000 will be
given back to the PTO to be used to support McAuliffe student related
activities! Well Done Team McAuliffe!
As always, please visit www.mcauliffeschool.blogspot.com
for current school updates and photos.
All the best,
Nan
