Welcome Back Friends!

From McAuliffe School Principal Nan Murphy

Hello McAuliffe Family and Friends,

Welcome!!  I am very excited to have you as a member of the McAuliffe School community!

As your family begins a new year of parenting a child in school, please take comfort in knowing that there is no better place for your child to receive their education than the McAuliffe.  The gifts and talents of our students combined with the dedication and passion of our teaching team is a winning combination!

Last year the McAuliffe staff was recognized for it’s excellence in teaching and learning by Massachusetts’ Commissioner of Education, Mr. Mitchell Chester.  During his visit to the McAuliffe the Commissioner questioned staff regarding their best practices so he could share our work with other state leaders and schools.   We are proud of our student’s accomplishments and are looking forward to another rewarding school year.

At the McAuliffe we value parent involvement and continue to build a strong system for parents to be informed about school related events.  I encourage you to:

·  Visit www.mcauliffeblogspot.com for updated school information and photos.  This is our primary website for communication with families and friends.
·  Communicate regularly with your child’s teacher.  All teacher emails can be found on our school blog. Listen to the connect ed message sent out every Sunday night at 7:00.  This message will inform parents of upcoming school and grade level activities.
·
Review your child’s school folder regularly for both school and classroom notices.
·      Become an active member of our Parent Teacher Organization.  Our PTO plans fun family events, fundraisers, and supports teachers with classroom tasks. Parent involvement is encouraged and appreciated at the McAuliffe.  Our first PTO meeting is September 15 @ 6:00.

Please do not hesitate to contact Assistant Principal Mike Ducharme, or myself with questions.

Looking forward to a great year with your child and family,

Nan Murphy
