12/17/12

 Dear McAuliffe Families,
Our hearts remain heavy as we continue to learn more about the Newtown school tragedy. As both parents and educators, this national disaster hits us in an extremely personal way. I would like to assure you that our staff is prepared to support our students and families during this time.

It is important that students are provided as much normalcy as possible while reinforcing their feelings of safety and security. The staff at the McAuliffe has been provided resources to support discussions which may arise. These resources are attached to this letter which was sent home today with each child and in the link below. We hope this will assist you in your conversations as a family.

As always, please feel free to contact either myself, Mr. Ducharme, or Kristin Moulton our school social worker if additional support is needed to guide your family.

We are a strong and united school community. Together we provide an environment where all of our students remain safe, happy, and healthy each day.

May you enjoy the upcoming break by celebrating the gift of family.

Best,
Nan S. Murphy,
Principal
