Memorial Day 2011

In honor of Memorial Day this year, Mrs. Murphy and Mr. Ducharme arranged for a bag piper to come and play at the McAuliffe School. He did an amazing job playing outside in the morning as everyone was entering the building. It was a beautiful way to honor our country and the men and women who have fought for our freedom. We were then treated to music inside our school as he played for each classroom before heading over to the Robinson school.

Below the photos is a video clip of the music. Before listening, scroll down to the bottom of this page and pause the music that is always played on this blog to be able to here it, then just scroll back up and click play.
Enjoy!
Happy Memorial Day!

We love you Mrs. Iby!

Our very own Mrs. Iby was nominated for the...
YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE AWARD!
Congratulations Mrs. Iby!
We love you!!

My name is Nan Murphy and I am the principal of the S. Christa McAuliffe School in Lowell MA.  It is my honor to nominate Yvette Iby for the Citywide Parent Council’s, You Make A Difference Award.

The motto at the McAuliffe School is  “Reach for the Stars”.  Mrs. Iby’s enthusiastic, dependable, and cheerful demeanor brings our entire school community closer towards achieving greatness.  Yvette is always willing to lend a helping hand.  Whether she is giving a school tour to a new family, helping organize paperwork and surveys, answering the phones, or assisting children during lunch and classroom activities, she always maintains a high level of professionalism and sensitivity towards teachers, students, and families.  She is a valued member of our school community as she models the true gift of giving; her time. She began her volunteer work 12 years ago at the McAuliffe supporting her grandchild’s classroom.  Her work continues as her grandchildren graduate from college.  I speak for the entire McAuliffe Team when I say that Yvette is a very deserving candidate for this award.

Thank you for your consideration.
Nan Murphy
