S. Christa McAuliffe

Teacher. Mother. Wife. Daughter. Sister. Friend. 
Christa McAuliffe was one of the most inspirational women of our time. She pursued her dreams and pushed the limits, wanting to become the first teacher in space. Christa McAuliffe was part of the NASA Teacher in Space project and was chosen out of 11,500 applicants. She was scheduled to teach two lessons from the Space Shuttle. She was 37 years old at the time of the Challenger explosion and she left behind a husband Steve and 2 young children, Scott and Caroline. 

Our McAuliffe School family is honored to walk through these doors every morning into a school where we "Reach For The Stars" all day, every day. Sharon Christa McAuliffe, we thank you for all that you did to show us that being the best you can be every day is something that we all need to strive for. On this 30 year anniversary of the Challenger Explosion we honor you and we honor you every day here at the McAuliffe School.

UML Riverhawks

The 2nd graders were lucky enough to win a visit from the UML Riverhawks and Rowdy the Riverhawk. They had such a great time and asked some awesome questions about where the players grew up, how long they had been playing hockey, what position they played, how many goals they had scored, how many games they had won and how they liked living in Lowell. They kids were awesome. Huge thanks to UML & Christopher, John & Evan. And we can't forget Rowdy! He had lots of fun too!

Rowdy crashed a Kindergarten Phys Ed Class while he was waiting for 2nd grade!! He's so funny!

Happy New Year 2016

Welcome Back!
 We hope everyone had a wonderful vacation and a happy new year! We are rested and ready for a fabulous 2nd half of the school year. What are your new year's resolutions as a family? We have plenty of goals to set at school. We are going to work on getting back into routines, getting to school on time every day, working hard, being good classmates, doing our homework, reading every night and staying GREEN to name just a few! We can do it!

How to Make Ice Cream (Mrs. Kelsey's Room)

We have been working on How To/Expert books across the grade levels and there is some pretty amazing writing taking place. In Mrs. Kelsey's class they learned "How To" make ice cream and they got to sample the results. Yum!

School Wide Assembly

Much thanks to the Robinson School Choir for coming over on the last day of school before vacation to put on a BEAUTIFUL concert for us. We truly enjoyed listening to their amazing talent and HUGE thanks to Ms. Howell for leading such an incredible group of students. Check out the photos from our fun day together.
