S. Christa McAuliffe

Friday January 28th, 2011 marked the 25th anniversary of the Challenger Space Shuttle explosion. We are honored here at the McAuliffe Elementary to have our school be named after such an incredible woman.
Check out our S. Christa McAuliffe page over on the right to view our pictures from this very special day.

Ryan Wholey & Butch

For anyone that followed the Butch Varno story that we posted a few months back, I got this picture from Ryan Wholey's mom today and wanted to share.

You're the best Ryan! We're going to add this to our Wall of Fame!

M & M Chorus

The McAuliffe & Murkland Chorus presented three fabulous shows this week that families, staff and students from both schools got to enjoy. Birdsong was performed at the McAuliffe on Wednesday, followed by an evening performance, held at the Stoklosa for families. They finished up strong with a final show today at the Murkland.

Both staff and students worked so hard to put together the performance and it showed! The M & M chorus works wonderfully together thanks to Mrs. Squeglia & Mrs. Green and the students at both the McAuliffe and Murkland schools. I was lucky enough to see it twice and captured some photos to share. Beautiful job everyone!

McAuliffe Students Donate to LGH

In the fall a group of third graders set up a lemonade stand and had a very generous idea of donating the money raised to the Cancer Center at LGH. Last week they hand delivered the money they raised ($40.30)  to the Cancer Center. It was such a wonderful thing for these girls to do and the staff at LGH were so very thankful and honored to have met such a great group of young people. Way to go girls!
